Strudengau

From Ardagger to Ybbs, the Danube carves and meanders through the granite of the Bohemian Massif. Once feared by skippers due to the numerous eddies and rapids, today it is a tranquil, quiet, wooded Danube valley. On the steep hilltops, many a castle or ruins still peep out of the forest. And in the valley, the water power of the falling streams is utilised by old mills and modern power stations.
